Uruguay
First winner of the World Cup. Beat Italy 4-2 in the final in 1930.
It won the World Cup again in 1950 by beating Brazil 2-1. Interestingly, there was no official World Cup final match in 1950. The winner was decided by a final round-robin group fought by four teams (Uruguay, Brazil, Spain and Sweden). Uruguay's 2-1 win over Brazil was the decisive match which won it this championship.

Argentina
Sixth country to win the World Cup. It beat the Netherlands 3-1 after extra time, in 1978.

France
Seventh country to win the World Cup. Beat Brazil 3-0 in 1998.
Zinedine Zidane scored 2 goals and Emmanuel Petit scored 1 for France. Strangely, Ronaldo of Brazil played poorly in the final, after mysteriously suffering a fit the night before the final. Many questioned his reinstatement in the starting lineup after this fit.
